Pickleball Clinics

Beginning on Friday, January 24, the Goldman Sports and Wellness Center will be offering five-week pickleball clinics led by our new pro, Ron Gentile. Whether you are new to pickleball or an experienced player, our clinics are designed to help you improve your game and meet new pickleball friends.

Participants will be grouped by experience level. Our goal is to help beginners understand the game and begin to play. Introductory clinics will cover the fundamentals of each stroke including serves, returns, drives, drops, dinks and volleys. More experienced players will learn strategies on how to put together the basic strokes to earn points. The fifth session of each clinic will be a friendly open play tournament.

Ron Gentile is an avid pickleball player and coach including coaching at the Palo Alto Pickleball Club where he teaches people of all levels. He has played a wide range of sports including racquet/paddle sports like tennis and ping pong, as well as endurance sports like Ironman triathlons. Ron has also been the point person for the Palo Alto Pickleball Club in articulating the significant role pickleball plays in addressing key community issues such as loneliness, mental health and obesity. He’s currently the founder of mental health company Moodfit and began his career at Adobe. He has a PhD from Purdue University.
