DEKA STRONG AND DEKA MILE

Known as the “Super Bowl of Fitness,” DEKA is comprised of 10 exercises that are completed as fast as possible. Elite DEKA athlete and OFJCC Personal Trainer, Tara Pipia, will prep a warm-up, workout of the week and cool down for you to practice for our next DEKA event.

DEKA is a timed functional fitness test that is made up of 10 exercise zones. The
OFJCC is proud to be one of the first local affiliates to partner and offer this program to the community. We host official DEKA mark events throughout the year as well as offer the DEKA playground to practice year round.

  • DEKA STRONG features 10 exercise zones with no running. 
  • DEKA MILE includes a 160-meter run preceding each zone. 
  • DEKA YOUTH is for 10–13-year-olds

Exercises can be modified for youth and 65+ divisions.

Ditch the workout—join the party! We take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over you'll see why Zumba classes are often called exercise in disguise.
