Lifeguard Training Course

Do you want to be a lifeguard?

Take the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course including First Aid, CPR and AED.

Each day of the two-day course will run in person from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with blended learning of 7 hours 30 minutes online before the course starts.

You will be emailed the online course information that must be completed before the in-person portion begins on Saturday, March 23 at 9:00 AM. 72 hours after registering, please check your email for a link to the online portion of this course. Registration closes on Tuesday, March 19 at 10:00 AM.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive your American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications.

Prerequisites for class include:

  • A minimum of 15 years of age by the end of the course
  • Swim 300 yards (12 lengths) continuously; can use a combination of both freestyle and breaststroke
  • Tread water for 2 minutes without using hands
  • 40-yard timed swim with 10-pound brick test. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object, and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
